Finals

Finals for the final time. It does not feel real that four years have already passed. I remember my first day of college like it was yesterday. Who I met, who I talked to, what I wore, and what I did. Its unreal that this is it. Marist was more than I could have asked for and more than I ever thought it would be.

Working out

Because I live in New Jersey, everything is closed. There are no gyms and I have no equipment at home. Being an athlete this has become challenging. There are only so many push ups and sit-ups you can do in a day. I can only run so many sprints before I wear out the grass. Quarantine sucks.

Baseball

The state of baseball is bleak at this moment. Owners and players are fighting about how much to pay each other and how they can do it safely. I think the owners are being greedy and asking players to unfairly share in the losses without offering them to share in the unexpected gains. The owners are being greedy to the players they would be nothing without in hopes fans will side with them, and they are kind of right for the most part.

Capping

As a senior I have been taking my capping economics class in which I have done a detailed study on how game theory can influence global politics and potentially save us from climate change. So far I have decided the ideas are there that might work but people are too spiteful for it to really work in real life. Unless of course we are in a simulation.

Hard Decisions

Because of the corona virus I had my senior baseball season cancelled after twelve games. I was recently granted the choice to regain my last year of eligibility by the NCAA but I don’t know if I should take it. Obviously, I want to because there is no experience in life like college sports, but what about the rest of my life. I have a girlfriend who has been doing long distance with me for two years and this would add a third. I had a job lined up. What about the younger guys whose spot I would be taking? I don’t know what to do.

One thing I learned in Quarantine

During quarantine I started playing more video games since I do not have a console with me at school. One game I picked up was Madden 20. I was progressing through the depths of the internet when I stumbled upon a video that said it would give me a touchdown every play so naturally I watched. It worked. This is the video.

Scene Review

Finding Fanon does not really have scene cuts in a traditional sense as in the film is recorded game play with a loop of wind and a voice over to make the film. The only things with any sort of interesting cinematography are the fly-bys that occur throughout the film that show the skyline instead of the continuous running of the main character that gave me motion sickness. From the 2:58 to 3:28 marker the film maker zooms in and out on changing horizons with characters occasionally being placed in the shot. Doing this in some way would potentially be very useful to me. It is also useful to know that I do not under any circumstance want to make a film that follows a character running endlessly throughout a world. I think the idea to use GTAV for the film was a good one as the animation is spectacular but the execution in using it was quite bad. It was a waste of the talented work of the game makers that gave the ability to do so much in the virtual world instead of running around. The use of environment and horizon shots is a positive to take away and I will consider that in the future.

Finding Fanon Review

Anyone familiar with the game Grand Theft Auto V is aware of the vast world, choices and high quality graphics that come with the game. This makes the potential for an incredible story line such as the one that comes with the game developed by Rockstar Games. This artistic genius was wasted on a short titled “Finding Fanon 2”. This short follows a character running around the map occasionally joined by another character. After watching the short multiple times, I can say that I have no idea what is the purpose of this work. Plain and simple it’s bad. There is a loose voice over and a ten second loop of sound playing throughout the entire film. It tells the story of Fanon becoming himself, but in my opinion it is a terrible story. The idea of Fanon finding himself by running around an empty GTA map is outrageous to me and I believe this film should be removed from the internet and deleted from the brain of anyone who was unfortunate enough to watch it. I can say nothing more besides I could not advise against watching this short any more.

What can you do with photoshop?

Photoshop can be used to make a world of anything. Whether you are screwing around with friends or doing some project for school you can do legitimately whatever you want. Making something to ruin someone’s life is in play, as is making a hugely successful advertising Ponzi scheme. Stealing money is the main idea just like the whole adobe studio does.

Coronavirus

What was allegedly started by a fictional evil corporation from a video game has caused mass hysteria around the world. Countries are shutting down ports and closing sporting events off to fans. And the great institution of Marist even closed its campus overseas.
